Forsvaret HK416 200m @30m (Hoved) target

The Norwegian Army shoots its basic rifle tables on this reduced card, at short range, in place of the full-size targets of a rifle range. Soldiers start on it with an introductory table, zero their primary and reserve sights on it and practise grouping, snap shots and kneeling; officers and grenadiers meet it again in their yearly rifle test. The same card is also used as the Forsvaret AG3 200m @30m (Forsvaret, Norway), the Forsvaret HK416 200m @30m (Reserv) (Forsvaret, Norway), the Forsvaret HK416 300m @30m (Forsvaret, Norway), the Forsvaret MP5 100m @30m (Forsvaret, Norway) and the Forsvaret MP7 30m (Forsvaret, Norway).

DFS badges

DFS clubs record their badge shoots in DFS’s online system, and Dugleiksmerket badges are ordered through the regional associations (samlag). Seniors and veterans pay for their own badges, stars, statuette and dish; the diploma is free. Meeting the Dugleiksmerket’s gold requirements 25 times earns a dish and 50 times DFS’s shield, and Skytterboka’s table of gold years runs to 75.

How it is shot

Tables 3–7 · Introductory table · Snap-shot table · Yearly test · Refresher tables · Zeroing · Grouping table
Tables 3–7
Tables 3 to 7 — grouping, snap shots, kneeling, kneeling to prone with a magazine change, and gas-mask shooting — are shot at 30 m on the reduced card or on full-size targets at 200 or 300 m (snap shots: 300 m only).Forsvaret UD 5-21-3 tables 3 to 7 (§§ 5.6–5.10)
Introductory table
The introductory table is 12 rounds at 30 m, three magazines of four at the shooter’s own pace, at a half figure carrying the reduced card, so hits show even if the sight is new or not yet adjusted; it sets no grouping requirement.Forsvaret UD 5-21-3 table 1 (§ 5.4)
Snap-shot table
The snap-shot table, at 30 m or 300 m, fires four-shot series from prone within 4 seconds a shot in series 1 and 2, 3 in series 3 and 2 in series 4 and 5; good shooting is 30 points.Forsvaret UD 5-21-3 table 4 (§ 5.7)
Yearly test
In the officers’ and grenadiers’ yearly test, part 1 is at 30 m on the reduced card (or 100 or 200 m): from 5 m behind, drop to supported prone and fire four single shots, changing magazines between, in 60 seconds; it needs 28 points.Forsvaret UD 5-21-3 table 22 (§ 5.25)
Refresher tables
Regular personnel can keep up their skills with tables 2, 3, 13, 21 and the yearly test; table 21 checks the primary sight with 4, 3, 2 and 1 shots at 30, 200 or 300 m (or elsewhere if useful) against table 2’s standard.Forsvaret UD 5-21-3 § 2.2.3 and table 21 (§ 5.24)
Zeroing
Sights are zeroed at 30 m with up to five four-shot groups each: the primary sight passes with the group’s mean point of impact in the 8 ring or better, the reserve sight in the 7 or better.Forsvaret UD 5-21-3 table 2 (§ 5.5)
Grouping table
In the grouping table each series is four shots from prone, five series per exercise — supported, on the magazine, then unsupported; good shooting is 30 points in series 1 and 2, 32 in series 3 and 34 in series 4 and 5.Forsvaret UD 5-21-3 table 3 (§ 5.6)

Skill drills
The reduced card is the Army’s card for skoleskyting — drills that train each basic skill on its own before it is combined with combat technique in combat shooting; close-quarters drills use whole, half or third figures or reactive targets instead.Forsvaret UD 5-21-3 §§ 1.3.4 and 4.1.2

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, your inner tens, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.

Scored with AI for now, which needs internet and your permission to upload the photo to an AI service in the US. Some AI scans may be free while we collect photos of this target; then each uses an AI credit (sold in packs in the app). Scoring by hand is free.
