MLAIC targets
The MLAIC is the world body for muzzle-loading shooting: precision and clay events for matchlock, flintlock and percussion guns, loaded with factory-made black powder only. Its events go by name and number — No. 6 Kuchenreuter is the single-shot percussion pistol — and most are shot in two classes, original guns made by 1899 and modern reproductions.
Every short-range precision event is 13 shots in 30 minutes, of which the best ten count, and a shot on a line takes the higher ring only if the centre of the hole touches it. The MLAIC’s own advice to a beginner: start with a reproduction single-shot percussion pistol or rifle.
