FFTir targets
The FFTir grew in 1967 out of the Union des Sociétés de Tir de France, founded in 1886, and acts for the sports ministry. Its licence runs from September to August, comes only through a club, needs a medical certificate, and is also what lets a shooter acquire firearms for sport.
Its ethics forbid any target showing a human figure. Beginners climb the “Cibles Couleurs”, seven coloured-target grades from white to rainbow, and shooting with military-issue arms — the card below — is run with the reserve officers’ and NCOs’ associations. Its national centre at Châteauroux-Déols hosted the Paris 2024 Olympic shooting.

FFTir events shot on two targets
Most events are described on their target's page. These are shot on two targets – precision on one, rapid fire or duel on the other – so each has a page of its own: the whole course stage by stage, with the federation's rules.
| Event | Stages | Shots |
|---|---|---|
| FFTir 25m Pistol | Precision, duel | 60 |
