FFTir Hunter 200m Rifle target
This is a card of the FFTir’s Hunter event, benchrest shooting for score rather than group size: the rifle rests on sandbags on a bench, and each of the five record bulls takes a single shot, all five in seven minutes, with unlimited sighters. Entry to the French championship is open, and all ages shoot in one class.

- Hunter event
- Hunter (event 999) is shot at 100 and 200 m in a single class, every age category shooting as Seniors 1. Entry to the French championship is open, and clubs are ranked as teams on the Hunter’s 100 m + 200 m total.FFTir RGS §§ B.3.1.1, B.3.1.2 and B.3.2.2.1
- Warm-up match
- An event is five matches at one distance, and a match is a single card. A warm-up match is required only at the first distance; at the others, shooters may ask for one, with the organiser’s agreement.FFTir §§ I.E, I.F and IV.C.1
- Course
- Every class, Varmint for Score, Hunter and Factory, shoots five cards of five record bulls at 200 m. A match allows seven minutes to fire the five record bulls, one shot to a bull, with as many sighters as the shooter wants on the sighter.FFTir §§ IV.C.1 and IV.C.3
- Rifle
- A Hunter rifle and its scope weigh at most 4.536 kg (10 lb); the scope magnifies 6× at most, and the cartridge must hold at least as much as a .30-30 Winchester.FFTir § IV.B.2, items 9, 11 and 13
- Rests
- The rifle is fired from the bench on soft sandbags, front and rear; adjustable pedestals with sandbags under the fore-end are allowed, but no device that brings the rifle back to its position or slows its recoil.FFTir § IV.D.1
- Gauging
- A first shot that lands anywhere on the card is not counted if the shooter tells the range officer. A shot too close to call is gauged with an FFTir-approved plug on the outside of the bullet’s mark, the best edge deciding.FFTir §§ IV.E.1 and IV.E.2
- Ties
- A tied match goes to the higher score, then the more mouches (Xs), then the first mouche, first 10, first 9 and so on, from record bull one to five; a match still tied is decided the same way on the next match.FFTir § IV.F.1

Scan offline or with AI

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, your inner tens, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.
Scored with AI for now, which needs internet and your permission to upload the photo to an AI service in the US. Some AI scans may be free while we collect photos of this target; then each uses an AI credit (sold in packs in the app). Scoring by hand is free.
