NSRA targets
The NSRA, founded in 1901 to teach civilians to shoot with cheap “miniature” rifles and named the National Small-bore Rifle Association in 1947, governs British small-bore rifle and pistol. Much of its competition is postal: club teams shoot witnessed cards on their own range and send them to the NSRA’s scorer, and one card can count for several competitions at once.
Its short-range prone cards are gauged outward, so a hole touching a line takes the lower score. Its signature event is the Bisley National Rifle Meeting, shot each August since 1922, and newcomers can measure their progress through its proficiency badges, open to non-members, from class D to Mastershot.
