SPSF targets
SPSF, founded in 1936, is Sweden’s pistol and revolver federation and one of the country’s voluntary defence organisations. Its signature is field shooting: squads walk a course and fire short timed strings at figures in the terrain. On its precision cards, shooting is one-handed and standing, and equal totals are split by the number of Xs.
Results are kept by weapon group — A service-type pistols, B other large-calibre pistols and revolvers, C .22s, R large-calibre revolvers. A newcomer starts in class 1 and climbs one grade of the Pistolskyttemärket a year, bronze, silver, gold; as a rule shooting starts with a .22 at 15, and larger calibres follow from the year a shooter turns 18.
