SPSF 25m Precision Pistol target

This is the card of SPSF's precision shooting and of the precision part of the Pistolskyttemärket, the badge a newcomer climbs from bronze to gold to move up from class 1. It is shot one-handed and standing, five shots in five minutes a series, and equal totals go first to the shooter with more Xs. The same card is also used as the DSB Nr.4 25m Pistol (DSB, Germany), the FFTir C50 Precision Pistol (FFTir, France), the ISSF 25m Precision Pistol (.22) (ISSF) and the NSRA 25m Pistol (PL7) (NSRA, United Kingdom).

SvSF shooting badges

SvSF’s rulebook dates its submachine-gun badge to 1946, its smallbore badge to 1971 and its first air-rifle badge to 1973. An SvSF club may back a member’s application for a handgun licence only once the member has met the silver requirements in sport, centre-fire or free pistol within the last 2 years, or SPSF’s gold. For a submachine-gun licence, SvSF asks for 3 years as an active shooter at gold level.

How it is shot

Positions · Course · Championships · Spotting · Pistol badge · Precision badge · Gauging · Ties
Positions
Precision is shot standing without the support hand; no part of the body may touch a support or table as a shot is fired. Class Veteran Ä, and shooters from the year they turn 70 in groups A and B, may use the support hand.SPSF rules F.6.3, F.6.3.2 and F.6.3.3
Course
A match is as a rule at least six series of 5 shots, 5 minutes each, after 3 minutes' preparation without loading and a sighting series of 5 shots in 5 minutes.SPSF rules F.6.1 and F.6.4 to F.6.6.2
Championships
Championships are 10 series in two rounds: seven for everyone, then three for the best sixth of each weapon group, rounded up, plus anyone tied with the last of them; the 10 best of the first round may always go on.SPSF rule C.3.6.1.1
Spotting
Shooters may read the position of their hits through a spotting scope themselves, but during a competition or a test for SPSF's badges they may not take anyone else's help with it.SPSF rule F.6.10.1
Pistol badge
Pistolskyttemärket needs, in one calendar year, three 5-shot series in 5 minutes on this card, each reaching the grade's minimum for the weapon group (group A: 32, 38, 43 for bronze, silver, gold), plus three timed series at figures or a field-shooting standard medal.SPSF Bilaga 1, 5.1.1.1
Precision badge
Precisionsskyttemärket needs a total set for the weapon group and course length at three different riks, regional, national or district precision competitions in one calendar year, after meeting the bronze Pistolskyttemärket requirements the year before; one grade a year, in order.SPSF Bilaga 1, 5.8.1
Gauging
A hole takes the higher value as soon as it touches the outer edge of the ring line. Doubtful hits are gauged inward: 5.6 mm for .22, 9.65 mm for 7.65 to 9.65 mm, and field-shooting gauges for larger calibres.SPSF rules F.6.10.1 and F.6.10.4, table 6
Ties
Equal totals go to the most Xs, then the higher last series, the one before and so on, then the most Xs, tens, nines in the last series and so on. At SM, regional and district championships, tied medal places go to a shoot-off.SPSF rules F.6.11.2.1 and F.6.11.2.1.1

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, your inner tens, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.

Scored on your phone, with no internet needed. Your first 10 scans are free, with no account; after that, scanning needs Shooter Pro, an auto-renewing subscription you can cancel in the store (prices). Scoring by hand stays free.
