SPSF Field Pistol target

Field shooting is a figure discipline of the SPSF: six shots at each of six to ten stations, scored as hits on figures. It has no printed ring card, so Shooter does not scan it; you log it by hand, hit or miss for each shot.

How it is shot

Stations · Time · A hit · Marking · Result · Ties
Stations
A field shoot has six to ten stations as a rule, and six shots are fired at every station.SPSF rules D.6.1 and D.6.4
Time
The rules fix no time for a series; the time per series is “not applicable”.SPSF rule D.6.5
A hit
A hit is a shot inside the printed area of the figure; touching the edge counts.SPSF rule D.6.10.1
Marking
Hits are marked as “2 + 2”: four hits in two figures.SPSF rule D.6.10.2
Result
The result is the number of hits in the number of figures, written like 47/25: 47 hits on 25 figures. In point field shooting every figure hit scores 1 point and every hit 1 point, and the result is the sum.SPSF rule D.6.11
Ties
Equal results are split by the most figures hit, then by the points on a ringed tie-break figure, then by the hits on the last station, the one before it, and so on.SPSF rule D.6.11.2.1.1

Logged by hand in the app

This event has no printed ring card, so the Shooter app does not photograph or score it. You log it by hand: hit or miss for each shot, one series for each station. The hits add up in your training log. The app counts hits and does not keep the number of figures, so a result like 47/25 is logged as 47 hits. Logging by hand is free.
