BDS targets
The BDS, founded in 1975, calls itself Germany’s largest federation for firearms that need a permit. It is the only German body recognised by IPSC for dynamic shooting, and runs classic precision from 25 to 300 m, field target, western, silhouette and black powder.
Its most-shot discipline, 25 m pistol, mixes 20 precision shots with 10 interval shots and two five-shot timed series in 20 and 10 seconds; ties go to the most tens, then inner tens, then nines. Its championship in Philippsburg draws well over 10,000 starts a year, and newcomers under 18 start in its air rifle and air pistol youth competitions.
