DSB Nr.17 30m Crossbow target

Scheibe Nr. 17 is the DSB card for crossbow under national rules (event 5.31): 20 bolts standing, one to a card, in 50 minutes. Its result can be combined with the star shoot on the pole (event 5.32): in the combination each Plattl shot counts six points, as much as this card's best ring.

DSB proficiency and master marksman badges

The DSB gives its performance badges each year to reward results and to encourage shooting for performance. A badge result can also count as the coordination test of the German Sports Badge (Deutsches Sportabzeichen) the same year. Clubs order the badges on a form at the end of each quarter, through their district, from their state association; in 2026 a small badge cost €4.00, a large one €4.50 and the master marksman badge €6.50.

Age classes go by the age reached in the calendar year, the DSB’s sport year.

  • Rings in one match of the shots given, at a club shooting day or any DSB competition, announced to the range officer before the start and shot under supervision; one condition a day, no second try that day.
  • The small badge takes the score once; the large badge, after the small one of the same colour, five times within a year.
  • Only DSB-approved cards count.
  • Female juniors take 5 rings off the junior numbers, as the table’s footnote says (worked out in the Junioren weiblich table); a class with no number may shoot the next stronger class’s.
  • The table prints no shots for Armbrust national; 20 is the Sportordnung’s course.

How it is shot

Course · Sighters · Wind flags · Backing · Gauging · Ties · Combination
Course
The national crossbow match (event 5.31) is 20 shots standing, one per card, in 50 minutes, with bolts of 6.0 mm diameter (tolerance 0.05 mm).DSB rule 0.21, event 5.31, and the crossbow table
Sighters
Any 30 m crossbow allowed under rule 5.20 may be used. The organiser may cut the shooting time by up to ten minutes, and at most 10 sighting shots may be fired, at any point in the match time.DSB rule 5.10
Wind flags
Before the match each shooter may set up as many as two wind indicators; they must not disturb anyone and may only be removed after the match.DSB rule 5.6
Backing
The cards hang on a wooden backing with a lead centre at least 90 mm in edge length or diameter and 20 mm thick.DSB rule 5.1.2
Gauging
A bolt scores the higher ring when it visibly touches the line; in doubt an outer gauge with a 6.00 mm spindle is used, always on the scoring plate. A misshapen hole whose edge leaves doubt is measured from its centre.DSB rules 0.11.3, 0.11.3.2 and 5.3.2
Ties
A tie goes against the shooter with more low-valued shots; if those counts match, shot values are compared from the last shot backwards, then inner sixes, then mouches, and last the distance of the shot from the centre on the last card shot.DSB rule 5.10.1
Combination
Shooters who also shoot the star (event 5.32) can be ranked in a combination: each Plattl counts six points, and the total is six times the Plattl result plus the ring score on this card.DSB rules 5.12 and 5.12.1

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.

Scored with AI for now, which needs internet and your permission to upload the photo to an AI service in the US. Some AI scans may be free while we collect photos of this target; then each uses an AI credit (sold in packs in the app). Scoring by hand is free.
