DSB Nr.1 10m Air Rifle target
DSB's Scheibe Nr. 1 carries its air rifle events — the standing match of 20 to 60 shots, the three-position air rifle and the rested air rifle for seniors from 51 — and the crossbow event at the same distance. A shot is an inner ten only when the white dot is gone completely, and ties go first to the last ten-shot series. The same card is also used as the IAU 10m Crossbow (IAU), the ISSF 10m Air Rifle (ISSF), the NRA AR-5 10m Air Rifle (NRA, United States), the SSV 10m Air Rifle (SSV, Switzerland) and the SvSF 10m Air Rifle (SvSF, Sweden).

DSB proficiency and master marksman badges
The DSB gives its performance badges each year to reward results and to encourage shooting for performance. A badge result can also count as the coordination test of the German Sports Badge (Deutsches Sportabzeichen) the same year. Clubs order the badges on a form at the end of each quarter, through their district, from their state association; in 2026 a small badge cost €4.00, a large one €4.50 and the master marksman badge €6.50.
Age classes go by the age reached in the calendar year, the DSB’s sport year.

- Rings in one match of the shots given, at a club shooting day or any DSB competition, announced to the range officer before the start and shot under supervision; one condition a day, no second try that day.
- The small badge takes the score once; the large badge, after the small one of the same colour, five times within a year.
- Only DSB-approved cards count.
- Female juniors take 5 rings off the junior numbers, as the table’s footnote says (worked out in the Junioren weiblich table); a class with no number may shoot the next stronger class’s.
- The table prints Luftgewehr’s shots as “40-1/10” without saying whether its numbers are whole rings or tenths.

Schießauszeichnungen des KB
KB shooting awards
The KB’s awards share one design in every weapon type but the English Match, and are told apart by size, colour and inscription. Its Schießsportordnung doubles as the shooter’s record book, in which the club’s shooting officer signs off each award with its score and date. Claims are checked by the district shooting officer and passed on to the state’s; an award won against the rules is withdrawn. The Silbernes Gewehr was first awarded for the 1967 season.
Classes go by the age reached in the calendar year: Schüler up to 14 (Schüler I 10–11, II 12–14); J Sch / Jun, Jungschützen 15–17 and Junioren 18–20, M girls and J boys; Damen and Schützen 21–40; Damen Alt(ers) and Alters 41–50; Damen Sen(ioren) and Senioren 51–60; Sen(ioren) I 61–70 and II 71 and over, with their Damen classes; Behinderte I 18–50, II 51 and over. Klasse I–IV, as the KB defines them for its service arms: I 18–40, II 41–60, III 61–70, IV 71 and over.

How it is shot
Standing match · Three positions · Rested match · Rested final · Crossbow · Gauging · Ties
- Standing match
- The air rifle match is shot standing, over 20, 40 or 60 shots, in 35, 60 or 90 minutes on target-carrier ranges and 30, 50 or 75 minutes on other systems, after a common 15-minute preparation time with unlimited sighting shots.DSB rule 0.21 and Teil 1, p. 21
- Three positions
- The three-position air rifle is 3×20 or 3×10 shots, kneeling, prone and standing in that order (from Herren II/Damen II, sitting may replace kneeling), with a time for each position that includes sighting: 35/30/40 minutes for 60 shots, 25/20/30 for 30.DSB rules 0.21 and 1.6; Teil 1, p. 21
- Rested match
- The rested air rifle (Auflage) is for seniors from 51, standing at a rest; from 66 they may also sit on a stool. It is 30 shots, one to a card, in 55 minutes on target-carrier ranges or 45 on other systems, sighting included.DSB rules 9.1 to 9.3; Teil 9, p. 8
- Rested final
- The seniors' rested final is 24 shots scored in tenths: two 5-shot series of 250 seconds each, then 14 single shots of 50 seconds; the lowest finalist leaves at the 12th shot, and another after every two shots until gold and silver are decided.DSB Teil 15, p. 2
- Crossbow
- The 10 m crossbow shoots this card too: 40 shots standing in 90 minutes, one 4.5 mm bolt to a card; its rested version is 30 shots in 70 minutes, sighting included.DSB rule 0.21; Teil 5, p. 17; Teil 9, p. 8
- Gauging
- Doubtful hits are judged with an outward gauge with a 5.50 mm measuring ring (10 m crossbow: 15.30 mm). An inner ten (10.2 and up) counts when the white dot is shot out completely; in doubt a 4.5 mm gauge decides.DSB rules 0.11.3.2 and 0.20 (Scheibe Nr. 1)
- Ties
- Ties are broken by the last ten-shot series, counting back, then the most 10s, 9s, 8s and so on, then the most inner tens; otherwise the rank is shared, except in rested events. Equal maximum scores stay tied unless a final is shot.DSB rule 0.12.1

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, your inner tens, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.
Scored with AI for now, which needs internet and your permission to upload the photo to an AI service in the US. Some AI scans may be free while we collect photos of this target; then each uses an AI credit (sold in packs in the app). Scoring by hand is free.
