DSB Nr.3 50m Rifle target
DSB's Scheibe Nr. 3 carries its .22 rifle events: the three-position matches, the 60-shot prone match, the 30-shot standing match, which allows a telescopic sight, and the rested match for seniors from 51. Large-bore rifles shoot it at this distance too. The same card is also used as the BDS Nr.3 50m Rifle (BDS, Germany), the FFTir 50m Rifle (FFTir, France), the ISSF 50m Rifle (ISSF), the KNSA 50m Rifle (KNSA, Netherlands) and the NRA A-50 50m Rifle (NRA, United States).

DSB proficiency and master marksman badges
The DSB gives its performance badges each year to reward results and to encourage shooting for performance. A badge result can also count as the coordination test of the German Sports Badge (Deutsches Sportabzeichen) the same year. Clubs order the badges on a form at the end of each quarter, through their district, from their state association; in 2026 a small badge cost €4.00, a large one €4.50 and the master marksman badge €6.50.
Age classes go by the age reached in the calendar year, the DSB’s sport year.

- Rings in one match of the shots given, at a club shooting day or any DSB competition, announced to the range officer before the start and shot under supervision; one condition a day, no second try that day.
- The small badge takes the score once; the large badge, after the small one of the same colour, five times within a year.
- Only DSB-approved cards count.
- Female juniors take 5 rings off the junior numbers, as the table’s footnote says (worked out in the Junioren weiblich table); a class with no number may shoot the next stronger class’s.
- KK-Liegendkampf’s shots are printed “60/Zehntel” without saying whether its numbers are whole rings or tenths; Herren III’s 3x20 bronze, 426, is as printed.

KB shooting awards
The KB’s awards share one design in every weapon type but the English Match, and are told apart by size, colour and inscription. Its Schießsportordnung doubles as the shooter’s record book, in which the club’s shooting officer signs off each award with its score and date. Claims are checked by the district shooting officer and passed on to the state’s; an award won against the rules is withdrawn. The Silbernes Gewehr was first awarded for the 1967 season.
Classes go by the age reached in the calendar year: Schüler up to 14 (Schüler I 10–11, II 12–14); J Sch / Jun, Jungschützen 15–17 and Junioren 18–20, M girls and J boys; Damen and Schützen 21–40; Damen Alt(ers) and Alters 41–50; Damen Sen(ioren) and Senioren 51–60; Sen(ioren) I 61–70 and II 71 and over, with their Damen classes; Behinderte I 18–50, II 51 and over. Klasse I–IV, as the KB defines them for its service arms: I 18–40, II 41–60, III 61–70, IV 71 and over.

How it is shot
Three positions · Standing match · Prone match · Rested match · Large-bore rifles · Gauging · Ties
- Three positions
- The .22 three-position matches are shot kneeling, prone and standing, in that order (from Herren II/Damen II sitting may replace kneeling): 3×20 in 120 minutes on target carriers, 105 on other systems; 3×40 (men) in 195 or 165; rifle and accessories may change between positions.DSB rule 1.6; Teil 1, p. 21
- Standing match
- The 30-shot standing match allows a diopter or, instead, a telescopic sight of up to 12× with an unlit reticle; the rifle, weighed without the scope, may weigh 7.5 kg. The time is 45 minutes on target carriers, 40 on other systems.DSB rule 0.21; Teil 1, pp. 19 and 21
- Prone match
- The prone match is 60 shots in 60 minutes on target carriers, 50 on other systems, after a common 15-minute preparation with unlimited sighting shots.DSB rule 0.21; Teil 1, p. 21
- Rested match
- The rested .22 match, for seniors from 51, is 30 shots with a diopter or a scope of up to 12×, in 55 minutes on target carriers or 50 on other systems, sighting included; state and national championships score it in tenths.DSB rules 0.21, 9.1, 9.3 and 9.4
- Large-bore rifles
- Large-bore rifles also shoot this card at 50 m: standard, free and prone rifle events for calibres up to 8 mm, and the 8.15 × 45R or 46R Feuerstutzen, each held as its competition's announcement specifies.DSB rule 0.21
- Gauging
- A hit takes the higher ring when the bullet visibly touches that ring’s outer line; doubtful .22 hits are measured with a 5.60 mm gauge, larger calibres with an 8.00 mm gauge.DSB rules 0.11.3 and 0.11.3.2
- Ties
- Ties are broken by the last ten-shot series, counting back, then the most 10s, 9s, 8s and so on, then the most inner tens; otherwise the rank is shared, except in rested events. Equal maximum scores stay tied unless a final is shot.DSB rule 0.12.1

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, your inner tens, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.
Scored with AI for now, which needs internet and your permission to upload the photo to an AI service in the US. Some AI scans may be free while we collect photos of this target; then each uses an AI credit (sold in packs in the app). Scoring by hand is free.
