SvSF 10m Air Rifle target
Sweden’s national air rifle is shot on this card in two disciplines: standing, and seated at a table with a rest or a sling, which children may shoot from the year they turn 11. The match is 40 shots in an hour; championships add a final and count tenths, and a centre ten needs the whole shot inside the 9 ring. The same card is also used as the DSB Nr.1 10m Air Rifle (DSB, Germany), the IAU 10m Crossbow (IAU), the ISSF 10m Air Rifle (ISSF), the NRA AR-5 10m Air Rifle (NRA, United States) and the SSV 10m Air Rifle (SSV, Switzerland).

SvSF shooting badges
SvSF’s rulebook dates its submachine-gun badge to 1946, its smallbore badge to 1971 and its first air-rifle badge to 1973. An SvSF club may back a member’s application for a handgun licence only once the member has met the silver requirements in sport, centre-fire or free pistol within the last 2 years, or SPSF’s gold. For a submachine-gun licence, SvSF asks for 3 years as an active shooter at gold level.

How it is shot
Distance · Course · Final · Seated position · Classes · Badge · Scoring · Ties
- Distance
- SvSF prescribes the international 10 m air rifle card. The distance is 10 m ± 0.05 m: standing, the front foot must be behind the 10 m line; seated at a table, the table’s back edge must be 9.9 m from the target.SvSF rules 3.2 and 8.1.2
- Course
- The match (grundomgång) is 40 shots in 10-shot series, with any number of sighters, in 60 minutes including the sighters.SvSF rules 8.2.1 and 8.2.2
- Final
- At championships a final follows and is added: 6 minutes of free sighters, 5 shots in 5 minutes, then 5 single shots of 1 minute each. At the SM the best 12 to 20, at most half the field, shoot it.SvSF rule 8.2.1
- Seated position
- Seated shooters sit at a table, both elbows on it; a rest may support the front forearm or hand, but the hand must be partly between rifle and rest. Shooters with a rest and with only a sling compete in one class.SvSF rules 7.4.1.3 and 8.1.2
- Classes
- Seated air rifle has age classes only, from the year a shooter turns 11 (LSi 11), and no performance classes. For training, younger children may shoot internal club competitions and local activities under a leader’s guidance.SvSF rules 13.2 and 13.3.1.1
- Badge
- Seated with a rest, the air-rifle badge (Luftgevärsmärke) needs twelve 10-shot series or three 40-shot rounds from announced competitions, club level up: bronze 76 a series (81 in decimals) or 304 a round. All grades except year badges can come in one year.SvSF rules 13.4.2 and 13.11.1.1
- Scoring
- Championships are scored in decimals throughout. Paper cards are gauged outward for the values 3 to 10, and a centre ten (centrumtia) needs the whole shot inside the 9 ring, which equals 10.8 in decimals.SvSF rules 8.2.1 and 7.5.3
- Ties
- Ties go to the higher last round, then the higher last 10-shot series, and so on back; then the most tens (inner tens included), nines, eights and so on; only then the most inner tens.SvSF rules 7.6.1 and 7.6.2

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, your inner tens, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.
Scored with AI for now, which needs internet and your permission to upload the photo to an AI service in the US. Some AI scans may be free while we collect photos of this target; then each uses an AI credit (sold in packs in the app). Scoring by hand is free.
