SvSF 100m Submachine Gun target

This card carries SvSF’s national submachine-gun shooting with the m/45 “kpist”: prone, or prone, kneeling and standing, in 5-shot series that last just 15 seconds when prone. Shooters must be at least 17, and the kpist badge, the Automatvapenskyttemärke, dates from 1946.

SvSF shooting badges

SvSF’s rulebook dates its submachine-gun badge to 1946, its smallbore badge to 1971 and its first air-rifle badge to 1973. An SvSF club may back a member’s application for a handgun licence only once the member has met the silver requirements in sport, centre-fire or free pistol within the last 2 years, or SPSF’s gold. For a submachine-gun licence, SvSF asks for 3 years as an active shooter at gold level.

How it is shot

Submachine gun · Eligibility · Prone match · Position match · Malfunctions · Submachine gun badge · Gauging and ties
Submachine gun
Only the m/45 and m/45 B, in the models the Swedish Armed Forces last approved, may be used, with the forces’ 9×19 mm ammunition; a case catcher must be used in all shooting, and the trigger must hold at least 1.6 kg.SvSF rules 4.5, 4.5.1 and 4.5.3
Eligibility
Shooters must have turned 17. Kpist has its own safety card, the Skyttekort Kpist, valid for kpist only; its test can be taken from the day a shooter turns 17.SvSF rules 8.10 and 1.1
Prone match
The prone match opens with 5 sighters, 30 seconds a shot (3 minutes in all on electronic targets), then four 5-shot series of 15 seconds each; the alternative championship match has six. A championship final ends with single shots of 30 seconds.SvSF rules 8.10.1 to 8.10.3
Position match
In the position match classes 3, 4, Elit, 55, 65 and 75 shoot two series prone, one kneeling and one standing; class 2 shoots three prone and one kneeling, class 1 all prone. Prone series last 15 seconds, kneeling and standing 3 minutes.SvSF rule 8.11.3
Malfunctions
After a stoppage a kpist shooter has the right to fire the remaining shots afterwards, on the range and in the field alike — once per 5-shot series on the range, once per station in the field.SvSF rule 7.5.5.3
Submachine gun badge
The kpist badge, the Automatvapenskyttemärke, instituted in 1946, takes three qualifying rounds from announced competitions, club level up; bronze needs 162 points in the 20-shot round (243 in the 30-shot alternative) and lifts the shooter from class 1 to class 2.SvSF rules 13.4.2, 13.11.4 and 13.13
Gauging and ties
Holes are gauged inward: a shot takes the higher value when the gauge touches the ring. Ties go to the better last round, then the better last 5-shot series, then the most tens (inner tens included), nines and so on, then inner tens.SvSF rules 7.5.3, 7.6.1 and 7.6.2

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, your inner tens, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.

Scored with AI for now, which needs internet and your permission to upload the photo to an AI service in the US. Some AI scans may be free while we collect photos of this target; then each uses an AI credit (sold in packs in the app). Scoring by hand is free.
