NRA MR-65 500yd Rifle target
The MR-65 is the military Mid-Range target that NRA reserves for matches at this one distance, the middle leg of Mid-Range prone, where 20 shots are fired slow fire at each of three distances. It can also carry the National Match Course’s 20-shot prone stage, and F-Class shooters paste the MR-65FC centre over it.

- 600 yd stage
- The National Match Course’s 20-shot prone slow-fire stage may be fired at 500 yd on the MR-65 instead of at 600 yd on the MR-1.NRA rule 7.14

- AR-Tactical
- Mid-Range prone also has AR-Tactical classes for semi-automatic AR-style rifles, fired prone on the standard targets with iron sights or scopes of at most 16×, a Harris-style folding bipod being the only front rest allowed.NRA rule 3.3.2

The card
- Card
- The MR-65 is the “Target, Rifle, Competition, Mid-Range”; NRA uses it in 500 yd matches only, and it is the only target for 500 yd classification scores.NRA rules 4.5(a) and 19.5
- F-Class centre
- For all F-Class shooting the MR-65FC centre is pasted over this card: its new X ring counts 10 and an X, the old X ring becomes the 10, the old 10 the 9, and so on.NRA F-Class Rules, Sec. 4 note and rule 4.5

Training on paper? Photograph a card and the Shooter app finds the holes and scores them by these rings: every shot, your X count, the series total, your group’s size and centre. Holes merged? Add, move or remove a shot. Every card joins your training log, so drift shows up over time.
Scored with AI for now, which needs internet and your permission to upload the photo to an AI service in the US. Some AI scans may be free while we collect photos of this target; then each uses an AI credit (sold in packs in the app). Scoring by hand is free.
